Obituary Yesterday we had to have our old Lab Ebony Of Lone Oak put down. She was slowly dying before our eyes from a nasty combination of age-related problems. Another Duck Season Comes to a Close
If you have to bag a lot of birds to have a good duck season 2012 was not your kind of year. We didn’t have many good days… unless you consider watching a beautiful Missouri sunrise or grilling sausage & cheese biscuits with friends in a twenty-six year old duck blind a good day. How …
More Big Kansas Whitetails
Thanks to Scott Morgan of Baldwin City, KS for another trail cam photo. It’s hard to see how these three extremely shootable bucks made it through the 2012 Kansas deer season. No wonder people come from all over the country to hunt Kansas whitetails!
It’s Tweener Time
As the New Year festers on the horizon, threatening to cut a wide swath through our hopes and expectations, lighten your load with a brief moment of laughter. Bruce Cochran Sept./Oct. Wyoming Wildlife News July I was in full fishing mode and the female voice on my GPS commanded me to go through Buckville on the way to a secret stream that only I and several thousand other people knew about. I’ve been married over fifty years so I’m …
Time out for a commercial
Christmas is coming up. Need something fun and inexpensive for the hunter in your family? Four cartoons are now available for note cards, greeting cards, or prints at Redbubble.com .
It’s Tweener Time
A Tweener is a cartoon that’s too outdoorsy for Playboy but a little too raunchy for outdoor publications. So why do I even bother roughing them up in pencil? Good question. After much deliberation I’ve decided it’s because I’m crazy.
Opening weekend at the Five Guys & A Swamp Duck Club
Shotguns boomed… retrievers retrieved… four gadwall, one pintail, and one shoveler fell… and my left knee sent me straight to the DL. It’s an old high school football injury. I didn’t actually play high school football; I got drunk and fell in a urinal at halftime. Things can only get better from here.
